Our Phoroptor Refractor Service Program is designed to help your practice deliver consistent, accurate refractions with confidence. Through routine maintenance and professional service, the program minimizes unexpected downtime, extends the life of your equipment, and helps protect the quality of the patient’s experience where it matters most.

Our Phoroptor/Refractor cleaning service is first rate.  Our technicians will disassemble your refractor; clean all lenses; lubricate all gears; adjust all tensions; and confirm all functions. This process is done by hand; one lens and one component at a time. No shortcuts. Loaners available.  If parts are needed, we stock an extensive inventory.

To start the process NOW please also provide the model number and serial number of your refractor.  (Most units have this information on a small metal label attached just below the bracket where the instrument is attached to the refractor arm, or on the patients’ side near the bottom.)  Provide your practice name and shipping address; and phone number of contact person.  We will reply with details and a price quotation.

EOSR will ship to you our special shipping container and easy packing instructions.  Once ready, we will issue a UPS pick up call tag.  On arrival, we will inspect and assess initial condition.  If needed, we will provide an estimate for parts prior to beginning service.

Steps include;

• Disassemble unit, all components
• Clean all spherical, cylinder, and auxiliary lenses
• Lubricate all components
• Confirm cylinder lens axis are correct
• Clean and adjust Jackson Cross Cylinder Spring tension
• Clean and adjust stop index rollers
• Remove and disassemble turret and cylinder axis synchronization assembly
• Verify that axis knobs correctly line up with axis scale.
• Reassemble Phoroptor/Refractor check indexes and adjust if necessary
• Check all components for proper operation
• Clean exterior surfaces, knobs, and levers.
• Transfer to dust free clean container for shipping
